Alright freaks and ghouls, it’s time for all to rejoice on this all hallow’s eve…eve…as the acid warlock witch Mr Rob Zombie and his band of devilishly fiendish monstrosities deliver the first fresh piece of skin off the bone (in simpler terms a new song) in four years! And what a raunchy psycho-hip trip it is!

My very first impression once the song had fully downloaded into my electric head was that this song has a piece of every Zombie release rolled up into one disturbing corpse. From the moment Zombie belts out the first few words the hair on the back of my neck stood to attention and the chills rippled through my body. But let’s not have the other members get overshadowed by the more-human-than-human main man….John 5 spouts blood-curdling tone from the bosom of his guitar while Ginger Fish and Piggy D boom out the low-end that could bring the old ones to their scaly knees.

The video itself just goes to show what anyone one of us can aspire to in terms of budget music video making. The quick shots… the humour… the orgy of colours… it’s all there… it’s all ROB FUKKEN ZOMBIE!

AND IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH TO SATISFY OUR INSATIABLE LOVE FOR THE FREAK KING…

Shortly after releasing the video for FREAK KING, the man himself let it be known that his 7th studio album will be available March 12th! Deliciously titled THE LUNAR INJECTION KOOL AID ECLIPSE CONSPIRACY, this will be his first release in five years. With song titles like ‘The Eternal Struggles of the Howling Man’, ‘Shadow Of The Cemetery Man’ and ‘18th Century Cannibals, Excitable Morlocks and a One-Way Ticket On the Ghost Train’, you just know this album is going to be classic Zombie. For me, March 12 cannot come soon enough. I eagerly await more singles to whet my unsavoury appetite for Rob Zombie’s brand of evil dead rock.
