Small and independent venues like Rumours are where bands and musicians get their first experience performing live and this is probably the most vital stepping stone for every band that goes on to tour and make a career in music. The venues that have already closed and are on the brink of closing are the kind of venues many bands and musicians play at the most. If you’re not a musician whose music gets loads of streams, then touring is one of the only ways to make a living as a musician. Venues have to survive for musicians to survive, who in turn have to survive for music to survive. So those of you who can contribute, please do so – even a R20 contribution can go a long way.
