I have to be honest right up front of this review – I’ve been on the DOOMTRIGGER hype train since I first reviewed their first EP “Enter the Cosmis” last year and I’m really stoked they have some more nasty gut-punchers for us. Their jams are tight; their riffs are delightful; the vocals are on point and the whole symphonic backing just elevates the already killer sonic assault. Let’s dive in.

“Dark Continuum’ sees this 4-piece from Stellenbosch continue (see what I did there) their trajectory in becoming one of the Cape’s top bands. While the five tracks that make up this blistering EP fall broadly under the classic metalcore moniker, the listener is treated to a very modern twist that incorporates some of the meatiest pieces of modern hardcore and deathcore, as well as some old school sludgy thrash breakdowns for good measure. All-in-all, everything that excited me in their previous EP is now amped up to 100.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: you absolutely have to see these guys live and get hyped because this band will take over soon.
