Citing personal interests as being “knitting, cookies, puppies and a world where Cthulhu may roam freely without discrimination”, Human Nebula are a five-piece progressive, djent infused and ambient-metalcore outfit from Pretoria, South Africa.

Exploding suddenly onto the scene, this gargantuan of a band was birthed on the 28
th of August 2018.

Human Nebula find themselves incredibly fresh to a very welcoming scene and fast-growing scene, the gents are ready to display their monstrous debut EP ‘Pillars of Creation’, which will be launching on the 17th of November, 2018 at the Rumours Rock City in Randburg.

Comprising of Riddlebreak’s guitarist and backup vocalist Gareth Reed, this time positioning himself as the hauntingly brutal lead vocals in Human Nebula, the band finds itself no stranger to creating music and the realm of heavy. ‘Pillars of Creation’ is a 17 minute and 36 second of pummelling heavy, symphonic and gut-wrenching heavy metal.

The EP instantly draws The Metalist in with title and intro-track ‘Pillars of Creation’ which is an ambient-clad spacey-toned platform for the oncoming track to springboard itself from, instantly the listener is drawn to the proficiency of picking and the hypnotic tone the band embody into the majority of this EP.

A Perfect Slave presents itself as a standout melding of progressive deathcore, Fallujah-like ambiance, and with downtempo metalcore-influenced chugging present in this monstrosity, additionally shredding bass offered by McHardy, the track feels as if it is to distort time and space and rip a rift into the very fabric of our reality with its invasive and relenting, and ominous hook.

The Great Escape is another spacey-effort, which sets itself in a reported Warhammer 40k world, an endeavour portraying a choice of two beasts, ultimately, a jump into the unknown or facing a known foe or enemy, no matter how unequal the playing fields may be, this track explores this concept with an technical mastery offered by the djents in Human Nebula, you can certainly be thrown into the war-zone that this track paints for us as listeners.

This EP presented by Human Nebula is a great effort and perfect introduction into who the band is and the route they intend to explore with future music and performances, good job lads!
