Middle Grounds is a newly formed four-piece hardcore band from Johannesburg, South Africa. Middle Grounds was formed with the purpose of addressing real life issues that are not only present globally but also in the local scene. They recently released their first single ‘There Is Never Peace’ on February 4th, 2022.

‘There Is Never Peace’ has powerful lyrical content which deals with the long lasting effects that sexual assault could have and aims to bring some form of transparency to those who are suffering the effects of sexual assault. This single is impressive not only because it finds a solid footing in its genre conjecture but also because of its individualised creativity. It is diverse in tempo and style, and it consists of typical grooves, riffage and rhythmic patterns associated with the hardcore genre. These elements mesh well together with the lyrics and draw attention to the importance of the theme.

Middle Grounds have a strong cohesive sound and this single gives just a hint of what is yet to come. They will be performing their first live show tonight at JARR Bar in Pretoria and tickets can be purchased from the following link: https://www.quicket.co.za/events/163912-22-joy-club-cassidy-cassidy-album-launch-ft-middle-grounds/#/
