Hailing from Durban, South Africa, newly formed thrash metal outfit Truth Decayed is definitely bringing some fresh tunes to scene, even though they have been active in other bands over the years, including Ryno Theron’s solo project which saw the release of his “Howling Rush” album and a performance at Smoking Dragon Festival, Splashy Fen and more. These boys are not kidding around, coming in strong on “Opposing Direction”, the vocals and thrashy riffs hit you hard between the eyes. It immediately takes you back to likes of Testament, Pantera and every old school thrash metal band you can think of. It reminds me kinda of the early 1990’s, when this genre of metal was a force to be reckoned with. Like they say, kick ass first, ask names later!
Moving on to Modern Day Illusion, there is no time for lengthy fancy introductions, it starts out pretty strong, and moves on to a more mellow approach, where it just dives back into fast, loud and dare I say it “facemelting” metal. No time to rest your neck in between songs, cause these fellows are going to bring the punches once they perform live.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”5064″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]They are not afraid to speak their mind about society, the reality in which we live in 2020, the fakeness and decaying morals. Ryno Theron states that “the songs are made up from old riffs Warren and I wrote some years ago. Hearing our respective songs come to life has been an awesome experience, giving birth to the Truth Decayed sound, combined with the input from Johan and Brandon”.
Modern Day Illusion EP consists of two songs:
1. Modern Day Illusion
2. Opposing Direction.
This epic new EP is out today 23rd of October 2020, so keep your eyes and ears open on
